Back To School Project
2007

UMW collected and donated school supplies to distribute to local elementary, middle and high schools.
54 loaded backpacks were delivered to AR Lewis, Holly Springs, Ambler, Pickens Middle and Pickens High Schools. Two graphing calculators were donated to the math department of Pickens High. Over $1000 was given to this project.

The Purpose of United Methodist Women

The organized unit of the United Methodist Church shall be a community of women who purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Honored UMW Member 

Kay Olmstead was presented a special recognition pin for her many years of dedicated service to the Grace UMW. UMW donated $500 in her honor for the installation of an automatic door opener in the office building. 

-$2600 was donated for the DVD system in the church bus.

$500 was donated to the purchase of a new ice maker for the church.

$500 was donated to Gleaning House Ministries this summer.

$1000 was set aside to purchase school supplies in order to furnish 50 backpacks for Pickens area school children. 

Cookbooks will be available for sale at more locations in Pickens.

The Asbury Hills Camp  was donated for the staff was treated to breakfast on July 29.

Visiting with friends is a vital part of the United Methodist Women's program at Grace.
